Richard Corben wins the Grand Prix (award) at Angoulême!
Mr. Corben's art is unique, well done, and as powerful as other greats such as Frazetta or Hugo Pratt.
Congrats to him and his wife.
He has drawn within several genres, and he even made some sci-fi movies.

previous art by Alex Ross
I believe Paul Levitz has edited or written the issue, and Jim Lee may have designed it.

January 8 marks the passing (28 years ago) of Bernie Krigstein a master of Sequntial Art
This January 8, 2018 marked the 28th anniversary of the great Bernie Krigstein's passing. He was a true comic book innovator and teacher. He took his time creating his pages, with a discerning lens.
I highly recommend all of his work.
